02/12/2008 - Santa Clara, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Tron Smith had 15 points to help 25th- ranked St. Mary's-CA hold off Santa Clara, 54-50, at the Leavey Center.

Diamon Simpson added 12 points and seven rebounds while Patrick Mills donated nine points for the Gaels (21-3, 8-1 WCC), who won their fourth straight game.

John Bryant had 21 points and 12 rebounds while Brody Angley donated 11 points and seven boards for the Broncos (12-11, 4-4), who have dropped two of their last three.

Trailing, 36-23, after Omar Samhan put in a layup close to three minutes into the second half, Santa Clara used an 11-1 run to cut the deficit to 37-34 after Ben Dowdell put in a layup to cap the run with under 14 minutes to play.

The game remained close for the next several minutes, but the Broncos tied the contest as Jonathan Gunderson drained a three to make it a 41-41 game with under nine minutes to play.

The Gaels held a four-point lead on a Smith jumper with 7:20 to play, but Dowdell and Bryant followed with jumpers and, after Mills missed a basket and Ian O'Leary failed on a free throw, Angley made 1-of-2 from the charity stripe to give Santa Clara a 48-47 lead.

A Smith free throw and a layup from Mills again gave St. Mary's the lead, but Bryant responded with a pair from the line with under two minutes to play.

Simpson, though, was fouled by Mitch Henke with 24 seconds to play and he drained the free throws for a 52-50 lead.

Angley had a chance to tie it, but his jumper rimmed out and Yusef Smith came down with the ball. Angley then fouled Smith with 3.6 seconds to play and he drained both of them to seal the win.

A 14-4 run that was capped by a Tron Smith three-pointer with a bit over seven minutes to play in the first half staked the Gaels to a 20-9 lead.

The Broncos kept the lead from increasing and got the last three points of the first half and trailed, 30-20, heading into the locker room.

The Gaels play at Loyola Marymount on Saturday...Santa Clara plays at Pepperdine on Saturday...St. Mary's shot 40 percent while Santa Clara connected on 36.7 percent of its shots...The Broncos hold a commanding 130-73 lead in the series.

Will Ohio State continue to run the table in College Football betting odds?
MySportsbook.com favors Buckeyes, Fighting Irish and Golden Bears in this weekend's big games.

NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 21 - My Sportsbook NCAA football fans: things are beginning to get really interesting on college football's national stage. Following last weekend's "Separation Saturday", which included five teams ranked in the top 15 dropping games, the BCS Championship picture is beginning to take shape - with Ohio State leading the charge. And, according to odds makers at MySportsbook.com, the number-one-ranked Buckeyes will continue their winning ways this weekend.

Revenge will be the name of the game in Columbus this Saturday, as Ohio State looks to even the score following last season's loss to Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions. Although Penn State are listed as 16.5 point underdogs, they are 11-10 all-time versus the Buckeyes. Paterno and the Lions, however, will have to shut down Heisman Trophy favorite Troy Smith who has thrown for 769 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Speaking of revenge, Notre Dame will be out for some against Michigan State, following last year's 44 - 41 overtime loss to the Spartans in South Bend. The thirteenth-ranked Irish, listed as a 3-point favorite, will also be looking to avenge last Saturday's thrashing from the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans, meanwhile, have won seven of the last nine match-ups against Notre Dame and are coming off an impressive 38-23 victory over Pittsburgh.

Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
